-Leather, elastic bands and rubber sole.
Year / 2018

Development Process

This project was done during a student exchange program at Design Academy Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in collaboration with Ossur company for prosthetic and limb amputation products.
The starting point of the project was to imitate an intuitive action such as rubbing the hands to keep warm and integrating this action into another area of the body where warmth is needed as well: the feet.

The special materials and shape of the interactive shoes allow back and forth movements of the feet to occur independently from the soles of the shoe, thanks to a flexible connection. The interior lining stores the heat created by the friction of the movement. When the soles of the two shoes are placed together they form a stable basis for the movement of the feet inside the shoes.
