Development Process
Conceptually exploring material and its ability to "crack under pressure".
As part of a studio exercise, we were required to design a metal product.
I wanted to check the metal's technological boundaries and use its imperfections and weaknesses to create a product, so I chose soft extruded metals which are easily processed but also easily damaged.
The more I studied and worked on the material, the more I discovered that it devolved new features such as flexibility, structural strength in certain places, and interesting spaces that I chose to reveal.
Logically, the product developed into a Nut Cracker.

This design for a nut cracker was chosen to represent the Midterm student exhibition spring 2017 as graphics for all publicity.
